About Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute

The Central Asian Pediatric Medical Institute in Tashkent was founded in 1972. Because of the scarcity of paediatricians in the area and the high newborn mortality rate, the institute’s major goal was to produce highly trained doctors and paediatricians. The Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute was renamed in 1989 by the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.

Pediatrics, paediatrics and medical biology, and medical pedagogical and medical are the three undergraduate faculties. Each faculty is separated into several departments, each of which offers a diverse range of courses. For students who want to advance their education, the department of doctoral studies offers two PhD programmes. Medical professionals in both the public and private sectors can benefit from advanced training courses offered by the institution.
