NTA Cautions NEET UG 2026 Aspirants Against Fake and AI-Generated OMR Answer Sheets
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important notice to candidates who appeared for NEET UG 2026, urging them not to submit fabricated or AI-generated OMR answer sheets while reporting issues related to their examination results. The agency emphasized that only genuine documents downloaded from the official portal will be accepted, and any attempt to submit manipulated records may invite legal action.
Why Has the NTA Released This Advisory?
After the announcement of the NEET UG 2026 results, the NTA received several requests from candidates claiming discrepancies between their recorded responses and the marks awarded.
While reviewing these complaints, the agency reportedly identified instances where altered or digitally created OMR answer sheets had been submitted. Some of these documents were believed to have been modified using image-editing software or artificial intelligence tools, making them different from the official records maintained by the NTA.
Guidelines Issued by the NTA
To ensure a fair grievance process, the NTA has advised candidates to follow these instructions:
- Use only the official OMR response sheet downloaded from the NEET UG candidate portal.
- Do not submit edited, manipulated, or AI-generated copies of the OMR sheet.
- Check all documents carefully before filing any complaint regarding the examination result.
- Avoid relying on unofficial websites, online tools, or third-party services that claim to recreate or modify OMR answer sheets.
Warning of Legal Consequences
The NTA has stated that every grievance submitted by candidates is being carefully examined. If a complaint is found to include forged, tampered, or AI-generated documents, the agency may take legal action under the applicable provisions of law.
The objective of this warning is to discourage the use of false documents and maintain the credibility and fairness of the NEET UG examination process.
What Should Candidates Do If They Notice a Discrepancy?
Candidates who believe there is an error in their NEET UG 2026 result should:
- Download the official OMR response sheet from the NTA website.
- Compare their responses with the official answer key.
- Submit any grievance only through the official NTA grievance mechanism.
- Ensure that all supporting documents are authentic and unaltered.
