About Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute
Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute was formed in 1972 on the Republic of Uzbekistan’s educational services market. In 1988, the Central Asian Medical Pediatric Institute was handed to the Ministry of Uzbekistan and restructured as Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute. It has graduated around 29500 highly competent medical physicians since its inception. The university is located in Uzbekistan’s capital city, Tashkent.
Because of a scarcity of pediatricians in the area and a high newborn mortality rate, the institute’s primary goal was to produce highly trained doctors and pediatricians. In 1989, the Uzbek Ministry of Health changed the name to Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute. For many years, the institution has focused heavily on pediatrics. The undergraduate curriculum includes courses in pediatrics, medical biology, medical pedagogy, and medicine. Several departments within each faculty provide courses. Students interested in doctorate study have the opportunity to apply to two PhD programs.
