One of the biggest medical schools in Kazakhstan is Semey State Medical University, which has branches in Pavlodar and Ust Kamenogorsk in addition to its own hospital. In 1953, Semey Medical University was founded, with the general medicine faculty opening. In 1953, there were 320 students enrolled. Semey State Medical University is regarded as one of Kazakhstan’s top institutions. In 1952, it was established. Semipalatinsk State Medical Institute was the original name of the university. The Republic of Kazakhstan’s Health Services Committee ordered the institution to change its name after more than 40 years to Semey State Medical institution.
1953 saw the entrance of the first class of students to SSMU’s medical faculty. Other university faculties were gradually established as well. These faculties include the faculties of pediatrics, which was established in 1963; stomatology, which was established in 1991; medicine-prophylactics; pharmaceuticals; and general medicine, which was established in 2003. SSMU began offering post-diploma courses in Pavlodar City in 1984.
In the fields of general medicine, pediatrics, stomatology, pharmaceuticals, and medical-prophylactics, about 3500 students are now pursuing medical education. Semey State Medical University uses the most advanced technology and top-notch equipment to deliver the greatest medical education. In addition to 168 PhDs, 35 Doctors of Sciences, one academician, three Corresponding Members of the AMS RK, and four Corresponding Members of the ANS RK, the institution employs over 450 professors.

Eligibility To Study MBBS In Semey State Medical University?
- Applicants must have passed Examination 12 with a total of 50% in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology if they are in the General category.
- If the students belong to other categories, they must have passed examination 12 in the subject’s physics, chemistry and biology with a total of 40%.
- Students must be at least 17 years old on or before December 31 of the relevant admission year. The NEET exam is mandatory for every applicant.
